New Feature Fulfilment by Amazon – Archiving Older Items

When an item is out-of-stock, discontinued or simply cluttering up your Inventory Amazon Fulfils view, you can now archive the item. Archiving an item hides it from your Inventory Amazon Fulfils view, but keeps it available in case you ever decide to fulfil it again using FBA. Once an item has been archived, it can be unarchived, providing it does not have the same FNSKU as another item in your inventory. This feature should make managing your inventory even easier and give you increased visibility over your non-archived items. For more details, go to FBA Help Section 6.6 Archive Items.

Stay on target - monitor your Customer Metrics closely

Amazon.co.uk has established a set of performance targets for sellers to follow so that buyers can shop confidently, with a sense of safety and security about their third-party transactions.

  • Your Customer Metrics indicate how you are doing with respect to these performance targets. During the festive season, it’s important that you monitor the Customer Metrics Scorecard frequently so you can spot and resolve operational problems promptly. Excessive order defect rates (negative feedback, A-to-z Guarantee claims and chargebacks) can cause account suspensions and even account closures.
  •  Check your feedback and A-to-z Guarantee claim pages daily, and proactively resolve any issues.

Amazon launches Fulfilment Web Services (FWS)

Amazon Fulfilment Web Service (FWS) allows registered merchants already using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) to access Amazon’s world-class fulfilment capabilities through a simple web services interface. FWS helps merchants integrate FBA functionality into their own ERP or MIS system. There is no charge for using Amazon FWS; only fees for the underlying FBA services apply.

There are two sets of APIs – Inbound and Outbound. with the inbound APIs, you can noticeably automate and simplify the inbound shipment creation process. With the outbound APIs, you will be able to programmatically send order information to Amazon for Mutli-Channel Fulfillment.

For more information please visit the FWS website. FWS is particularly useful for integrators or US companies already using FWS with established APIs. For more information or to sign up for FWS please, contact bizdev-uk@amazon.co.uk

Maximum Replacement Value Increased to £ 700 per Unit when using Fulfilment by Amazon

With immediate effect, FBA has increased the maximum replacement value for lost and damaged inventory to £ 700 per unit in the UK. This means more peace of mind when sending your high-value items to an Amazon fulfilment centre. It also enables you to consider extending your selection of higher value items fulfilled by Amazon in the busy run up to year end and beyond. As always, if a loss of or damage to any unit occurs under circumstances for which Amazon takes responsibility as set forth in the FBA Service Terms, Amazon will reimburse its merchants the fair market value for the product minus appropriate Fulfilment and Selling on Amazon fees. To review specifics about the policy and scenarios in which it does or does not apply, please visit FBA Help Section 3.2 FBA Lost and Damaged Inventory Reimbursement Policy.

In parallel, Amazon has introduced Free Super Saver Delivery with no minimum purchase value. This offer is also available for your items fulfilled by Amazon. We hope to help our valued merchants maximize their sales in the busy end of year and Christmas period.

When using Fulfilment by Amazon, please take into account the product restrictions. For instance, do not include products exceeding 30 kg in weight and 150 cm in length with a dimension greater than 3 metres (Dimension = [2 x breadth] + [2 x width] + length).
